USB is specified to be an industry standard extension to
the PC architecture with a focus on PC peripherals that
enable consumer and business applications. User applications
such as digital imaging demand a high performance connection
between the PC and these increasingly sophisticated peripherals.
USB 2.0 addresses this need by adding a third transfer rate
of 480 Mb/s to the 12M b/s and 1.5 Mb/s originally defined
for USB. USB-enabled electronics device annual shipments
will double from 1.4 billion in 2005 to 2.8 billion in 2010,
reports In-Stat (http://www.in-stat.com). Several PC peripherals, consumer electronics and communications
applications have high speed USB and OTG.

Port (VIP) Standard and chaired the VIP VESA work group,
